Who is Reserves 2050?

We area broad-based, national, not-for-profit and non-partisan coalition of Canadians who believe Canada would benefit from an expanded Reserve Force and are willing to work to influence Defence Policy to bring about that result.

What does Reserves 2050 do?

We advocate for strong, well funded, and properly mission equipped Reserve Force where everyday Canadians of all walks of life can choose to serve Canada while balancing a stable home front.  We recognize the uniqueness of the citizen-service member and we are their voice to all Canadians.

Tactical Groupings - Reducing Command Teams while Growing the Primary Reserves

The Canadian Army (CA) is beginning to move out on its "Inflection Point 2025" plan across the Army.  The stated purpose of this reinvigoration is to have the CA and its elements become more operationally focussed.  In a "Command Intent" centric led military that the CAF purports itself to be, sometimes the delta between Commander's intent and execution can be the difference between success and failure.

Nifty Nugget - A US experiment with total mobilization

The Canadian Government and senior CAF leadership has proposed a radical initiative of creating a 300,000 personnel strong "Supplemental Reserve" force that could potentially be mobilized in the case of international and domestic crisis.  This is lofty goal for a military that currently struggles to keep a cobbled together international Brigade group deployed.

Good news in CAF recruiting

CTV news is reporting a positive trend for CAF recruitment as numbers indicate an increase in the number of Canadians being processed through basic training in St Jean, Que.  We would love to hear from reserve units across Canada to see if this trend is being replicated in our community based national service institutions.  Let us know.

Some thoughts on Ukraine

Bryan Brulotte has recently published a thought provoking article in the National Post on the conflict in Ukraine and its impact on the West.  This is an issue that affects all Canadians as it directly shapes how Canada views preparations for future conflicts in both near and mid term horizons.  Canadian reservists of all elements have made significant contributions to the NATO presence in Eastern Europe on land and sea as well as in the air.
